The government must get a grip on the 111 line

10 May 2013
Diane Abbott MP, Labour’s shadow public health minister, urges government to get a grip on 111 line, as the Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP) say patients have "lost confidence":

‘It’s clear that patient care is now reaching a state of national emergency. This government shambles is putting patients and staff at risk, and the government has got to get a grip. Patient care and confidence is being shattered by the government’s disastrous management of the 111 line, and the growing A&E crisis the government has created.

‘Instead of just sitting there hoping this problem will go away Ministers need to communicate with NHS staff and the British public about what is being done to fix this mess’.
