Diane Abbott hosts Black Women Mean Business event at House of Commons
Diane Abbott, MP for Hackney North and Stoke Newington, and Britain’s first black woman MP, will host a Black Women Mean Business’ (BWMB) seminar as part of its winter programme at the House of Commons on Thursday night.
Invitations have gone out to prominent black business women across the UK who have met since 1993 to share experiences and create networks for the advancement of black women in enterprise.
This year’s special guest will be Tim Campbell, winner of BBC’s hit show The Apprentice. Tim will share his experiences on the programme, after the programme and his future business plans. There will also a surprise guest speaker.
Founded in 1993 Black Women Mean Business is a non-profit making organisation chaired by Diane Abbott MP. Its mission is to help support and celebrate black businesswomen.
BWMB is a unique programme of activity for black business women and potential entrepreneurs. It is the first initiative of its kind in the UK.
