Government must urgently make clear what plans are in place for other unaccompanied minors

Diane Abbott MP, Labour’s Shadow Home Secretary, speaking in advance of the arrival of unaccompanied minors from the Jungle Camp in Calais, said:“The arrival of one hundred unaccompanied minors is a positive preliminary step. The world watched as minors, alone and desperate, were forced to beg at Britain’s door for sanctuary.
“Britain has a proud tradition of welcoming refugees but the treatment of these unaccompanied minors has been miserable and deeply embarrassing.
“The Government must urgently make clear what plans are in place for the other unaccompanied minors, who have a long-standing legal right to be here under the ‘Dubs Amendment’.”
